This is a guide on how to replace the aerial on a phase 2 (2000-2004) Volvo V40.Remove the speaker cover and the light and disconnect it. If you have the dog guard fittings, remove the two screws and it will come out
There is some adhesive double side tapeor something holding the roof lining at the edge of the boot. Carefully undo that until you can see the clamp. This clamp was a bit tricky, until I actually checked VADIS. VADIS says to turn it 1/4 of a turn and remove. Also see next picture 
Remove the rear Grab Handle. You need to unclip the plastic cover and undo the 2 bolts. Then carefully lower the roof lining taking care not to crease it. Undo the nut securing the aerial base and you are done

thanks very much for the pictures and instructions , only problem i had was with the sticky tape holding the roof lining , but have scraped off the residue and will replace it , new seal and aerial base fitted , hopefully no more leaks.
