How to check Oil level on Volvo S60, V60, S80, V70, XC70, XC60, V40

Current Volvo models don’t have the usual engine oil dip stick to check the oil level.

Instead they have an electronic oil sensor, and you can check the oil level information in the cluster display.

Follow this simple tutorial to check the oil leven in your Volvo V40 (2012 – on), Volvo S80 (2006 – on), Volvo V70 and XC70 (2007 – on), S60 and V60 (2010 – on) and XC60 (2008 – on).

NOTE: Do not touch any pedal during whole procedure

Step 1: Insert the remote control into the ignition switch and give a long press on “START/STOP ENGINE” button. Cluster lights will turn on.

If your car have the standard analog cluster:

Step 2: Rotate the thumbwheel on the left-hand stalk switch until “Engine Oil level” is  displayed in the cluster display. The Oil level graph should already be visible in your cluster screen.

If your car have the full digital cluster:

Step 2: Rotate the thumbwheel on the left-hand stalk switch until “Oil level” is displayed in the cluster display.

Step 3: Select the “Oil Level” option and then the Oil level graph will appear.
