How to replace the cabin pollen multi filter Volvo S60, V70, XC70, S80 or XC90

This is how to replace the cabin pollen multi filter for cars with ECC particulate sensors on a mk2 V70 (2000 to 2007), XC70 (2000 to 2007), mk1 S60 (2000 to 2010), mk1 S80 (1998 to 20069 and XC90 (2003 to 2015) .

Remove the passenger side kick panel by unscrewing the two torx screws marked with green.


Unclip it from the centre console and from beneath the dashboard.

This will reveal the filter housing. Unscrew the four torx screws (marked with red) that hold on the black cover on the bottom of the housing and remove the cover.

Pull the old filter down until it drops out. Take note of which slot and orientation your filter is in.

Insert the new filter. The filter is cut in such a way it will only fit in one direction.
