How to replace the battery in Volvo S60, V60, XC60, S80, V70, XC70

Follow this simple tutorial to replace the battery in your Volvo S80 (2006 – on), Volvo V70 and XC70 (2007 – on), S60 and V60 (2010 – on) and XC60 (2008 – on).

The battery is located in the right side of the engine bay, near the windscreen, under 2 covers

1. Unclip the 4 retainers and pull the cover up.

2. Remove the rubber strip, half way to the middle of the car.

3. With a philips screw driver rotate the plastic screw 1/4 of a turn to the left.

4. Pull the second cover up to remove it.

5. With a 10mm socket wrench undo the positive terminal, and remove it from the battery. Next, do the same on the negative terminal.

6. With the 10mm socket wrench, undo the screw to the bracket that holds the battery down, and remove the screw and braket.

7. Remove the battery and replace with a new one.

To install, reverse this procedure.
